Zwift has a level system in place for all cyclists and runners. Everyone begins at level 1 and moves up levels as they accumulate experience points (XP). As of game version 1.54+, Zwift has restructured cycling levels in a different fashion than in prior versions. There are now 100 levels for cyclists and 30 levels for runners. As of July 2024, Zwift once again revised the level requirements. They didn't add any new levels but changed the XP requirements for levels 28-100.
Zwift will transition users at previous levels and users who had exceeded level 60 (previous level cap) into the new structure using both a level acceleration and level discount to bring everyone inline with the new level structure.
Additionally, once a user reaches level 100, the progress bar will be reset. You can then 'refill' the progress bar over and over at 20,000 XP per 'refill'. For each 'refill', you'll earn 50,000 drops for use to purchase items from the Drop Shop.

Besides just increasing your stature with other Zwifters, leveling up rewards you with virtual gear that you can use in-game. At each level, you will receive a reward for your effort. Additionally, certain areas in Watopia, as well as lots of the virtual frames and wheelsets you can purchase with your earned Drops are level locked. You also receive 50,000 bonus Drops for each level achieved. Lastly, like any virtual game, rising up in levels in itself can be a motivation factor.
What's My Level?[]

Your level is shown in various places but the most obvious is in-game in the center block of the Heads Up Display. Your level is shown in an orange progress bar. As you earn XP, the progress bar will fill out completely and you will move to the next level. At each completed level, you will receive a banner showing you what you've earned as a reward for reaching that level.
Additionally, once you've completed your ride and exiting to the Home screen, you will be presented with a 'New Streak' screen. This shows your current level and progress towards the next level. The 'New Streak' is determined by whether you have ridden at least 2km in the last week (Monday thru Sunday). Each week that you complete at least 2km, the streak counter will increase. You will earn an extra XP bonus for the first day of a weekly streak: 300XP for the first day of week one, 400XP for the first day of week two and 500XP for the first day of every week thereafter, as long as the streak continues.
